889’s Breathwork + Meditation class begins with breathwork and then moves onto meditation. Breathwork, also known as Pranayama, is the formal practice of controlling the breath, which is the source of our Prana, our vital Life Force. In this class you will explore the theory and practices of various breathing techniques which balance, clear and calm the mind, preparing the body and mind for meditation. This class is open to everyone. No experience is required. The 889 Breathwork + Meditation class will cover breathwork such as the basic 3 part yogic breath, Ujjayi, Anuloma Viloma, Kapalabhati, Bhramari and more. Once the mind settles after the breathwork, several meditation techniques will be introduced and practiced, such as Japa, observation of thoughts, single point focus meditation, meditation on a chakra, and more to provide a variety of entry points to the bliss found in the silence within. Leave this class feeling blissful, centered, restored and less reactive.
