Yoga Nidra means Yogic Sleep. It is a state of conscious deep sleep that restores the body + mind. This Yoga Nidra class is open to everyone. No experience is required. A Yoga Nidra class is different from a meditation class. In a meditation class, you stay in the state of being consciously awake while gently observing emotions, images, sensations and thought patterns as they arise and you let them pass. In a Yoga Nidra class, you leave the waking state, move past the dreaming state and go into deep sleep while remaining awake. You will leave this class feeling peaceful and calm; like you’ve just had a few hours of deep sleep. This practice is done lying down, supported by comfortable props. All you have to do is get comfy, listen, and follow along with the guided journey your teacher takes you on.
