I often think of Pilates as Yoga’s spunky, not-so-distant cousin. The two share similarities of balance and strength, but unlike many yoga practices, Pilates classes work with small, micro movements.

These micro movements are vital to help strengthen stabilizing muscles in the body. Once the stabilizers begin to strengthen, the larger, global muscles in the body become more supported, which increases muscular endurance, co-ordination, posture, and balance in the body. Pilates also helps to decrease the risk of new injuries and rehabilitate old ones.

Get ready to have some fun in Pilates at 889. Classes are always fuelled by rocking playlists, various props, and creative sequencing. We work with clients to help correct form without compromising “the burn.”

Classes are created with various bodies in mind and modifications for any sequence can be given if needed. Questions after or before class? We are always happy to help, just ask!

Pilates can be a wonderful addition to any exercise routine you already have or it can be a great place to start if you are looking to become more physically active. Check out the schedule for times and more detail. 889 Schedule
