Protect your skin with a natural sunscreen

Sunscreen plays an important role in the protection and preservation of the skin. UV ( ultraviolet) rays are the main cause of skin damage and premature aging. UVA rays are longer length rays that cause damage to the collagen and elastin fibres in the dermal layer of the skin. Collagen is what keeps your skin looking plump while elastin fibres provide elastic stretch and recoil in the skin. UVA rays can penetrate through glass! UVB rays penetrate into the first layer of the skin ( the epidermis) and are responsible for redness, burning and swelling after sun exposure. They contribute to premature aging as they are responsible for largest amount of tissue damage and skin cancer.
