Some people get their best thoughts / eureka moments in the shower. The final resting pose in yoga is my shower equivalent. I know that savasanna is a time when I should try to think of nothing, but it is when I think of everything. True to my monkey mind self, meditation and savasanna are extremely difficult states for me. Here’s a fairly recent savasanna train of thought; a bit of summer for you on this winter day.

There is a chimney that peeks through the trees, as if straight from one of Aesop’s Fables, when you look out of the Sun Studio’s window. I like to place my mat there so that I can catch a glimpse of it during every class.

The “January Joiner” phenomenon is new to me. It is this annual surge of New Year’s Resolutionaries, the people who sign up at the start of the year for gym memberships only to revert back to their pre-resolution states soon after.

The distance between the back of my heel and the mat when in downward dog has hardly diminished since my yoga practice began. I am fairly certain that the day my heel meets the floor in one effortless move, I will let out a slight squeal.
