As a business owner, it is a top priority for me to ensure that my employees are consistently re-energizing. Internally, at 889 Yoga, Christine and I have learned to put less of an emphasis on getting more out of employees and more of an emphasis on investing ‘in’ them so they are calm, energized, motivated and productive! With this shift in your company, you too, will feel your team bring more of themselves to work every day.
The workshop ‘feel’ and openness to in the moment dialogue makes this class unique. From beginners to more experienced practitioners, we all find a common place in a simple exploration of the poses, transitions, sequences and breath. When I use the word simple, I really mean deep. Often times we need to step back and feel the depth of simplifying our practice.

I am so thrilled about the health movement that is erupting in our Western society. Within the past couple years, terms like meditation, yoga, organic living, positive vibrations and the law of attraction have become commonplace. I am so inspired by this development and urge you to continue doing and learning about whatever you’re into! […]

By Lisa Mitchell, mother of two, and Yoga teacher at 889 Yonge Street. Yoga has changed me. I used to be attracted extremes. When I was younger, I used to think that “the middle” was boring, average and dull. Now I realize that finding the middle ground is an interesting challenge. One of the primary […]

There is a chimney that peeks through the trees, as if straight from one of Aesop’s Fables, when you look out of the Sun Studio’s window. I like to place my mat there so that I can catch a glimpse of it during every class.
