My facial at 889

I’m pretty joyous right now. I had my first facial at 889 this afternoon and two words describe my skin right at this very moment: dewy and glowy! This was a result of a combo of factors: incredibly high quality, clean beauty products, Pauline’s magical tapping fingers and total relaxation. Let me break it down for you:

Clean beauty products. As you probably might guess, being a holistic nutritionist I’m a bit of a clean freak when it comes to what I put on my skin. This is because what you put on you, get’s IN you. But let’s take it one step further because I’ve tried pretty much every beauty product on the market and many “clean” ones, just don’t work.

The facial I had was with the Tammy Fender line of luxurious products. And not only does it work, but it’s pure and nourishing. The combo of certified organic plant oils in many of the products means my skin was drenched in vitamins and minerals. I’ve had facials before where my skin was actually flaky and red after leaving. My skin feels calm, soft and looks glowy. Yay!

Pauline’s magical tapping fingers. I know most esthetician’s stimulate your skin (aka magical tapping fingers), but this felt especially incredible. The tapping not only ensures the best application of the product and also, stimulates blood flow in the skin. I’m sure there’s other reasons she does it, but aside from that, it felt amazing.

Total relaxation. I don’t know about you, but it’s not very often that I chill out - aside from doing yoga. So the massage part (with a few special Reiki-esque techniques mixed in) was really beneficial for me. It was wonderful and my lymphatic system was definitely stimulated.

When I got home, I made a skin brightening, detoxifying, immune-boosting fresh juice with carrots, ginger and a few other ingredients.

All-in-all it was a wonderful experience and I just had to share it with you!
